Q1: How do I login to check my
e-mail from home?
A: Visit www.sheldonisd.com. Click on the District E-mail
icon towards the top right-hand corner of the page or just click here. You must type in your username and password. Your username is what you use to login while
you're on campus proceeded by sheldon_main. Example: Sheldon_main\khs-doej.
Q2: How do I block unwanted
e-mails?
A: The district currently uses a package called Barracuda (Tangent) to filter spam and block viruses from e-mail. To create your own login to mange your spam settings individually use this link
http://tcnoc.com/clientlogin.htm. WARNING: We only recommend this if you are receiving more than 40 spam e-mails a day. Please consult your campus I.T.S. for more information.
Q3: Can I bring my laptop from home and use it on the network?
A: Yes, however you must have your
laptop setup to use our network before trying to use it. It must have Windows XP,
be joined to our domain, and have the district’s anti-virus software installed on it. There is also a form that must be signed and on file in the district’s technology office.
Q4: How can I reset my password?
A: If you have a Windows XP or Windows 2000 machine you can press
the Ctrl – Alt – Delete keys at the same time, you will get a pop-up box where you can press
Change Password. You must type in your old password and then enter your new password twice. For any other operating system you must contact your I.T.S.
Q5: What if I forget my password?
A: If you don’t know your password, you must have your campus I.T.S. person reset it for you.
Q6: I can't get into my voice mail. What do I do?
A: If you can’t access your voice mail, you must send an email to your campus I.T.S. with the following information:
Name, Room Number, and Extension.
Q7: How do I install a network printer?
A: Click on Start, and then Run. Type the name of your campus
server (for example \\KHS_sisd\). Click OK. This brings up a window with shared material. Double-click on the printer you are trying to install. The printer is now installed.
Q8: How do I map a K: drive for exporting grades?
A: Right-click on My Computer. Click on Map
Network Drive. Choose K: in the drive letter box and type in the location of your IGPRO grade book. For example: \\KHS_SISD\igpro\igprodata\
Q9: I have a problem with my computer. What do I do?
A: All computer problems must be submitted to campus-level I.T.S. staff first. If they cannot fix the problem, then they will report the issue to district-level technology staff.

Q10: My name has legally changed.
How do I get my E-mail and login changed to match?
A: All name changes must be submitted through the Human Resources department. Once they have
been made aware of the changes, the technology department will be notified and
we will make the requested changes.
Q11: I
would like to buy equipment for my classroom. Where do I get it from?
A: All district computer equipment is purchased from one vendor. For this reason, we ask that you go through your campus I.T.S.
Q12: How do I get wireless in my classroom?
A: Currently the district is looking
at installing wireless access points in all buildings. These access points
will be set so that only district equipment can access them. Do not install any
access points in your room.
Q13: Why does my computer always ask me to change my password?
A: The district requires that all passwords be changed every thirty days. Your computer will start asking you change your password fifteen days before your password actually expires. We recommend that you go ahead and change your password when you first start receiving warnings.
